Rating Colombia Urbano

I am of the mindset that modern day commercial Reggaeton ruined the culture quite a bit.  But no one is more guilty of this than the country of Colombia in my opinion.  They saved Reggaeton on a commercial perspective helping it reach newer audiences than ever.  But their lack of writing, originality and overall musical redundacy has ruined the genre so bad that even the new talents in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic suck equally as bad.  Will Chile save us?  Hell no!!!  But maybe a generation after this one will.

And my bad on my rant. But I am going to offend Urbano fans some more. He, Camilo, Keityn and Ovy are why people say that Colombia ruined real Reggaeton. You got one guy who supposedly is the best beat maker in existence but he makes some beats so ass I am convinced he stole flp file blueprints. And he wouldn't be the first one. Several guys made millions using stolen blueprints in Reggaeton and American Rap, most of them just haven't been caught but even Luny said he could tell when other producers stole his blueprints. And I believe him!

But Colombia ain't all bad. Feid is great. Alcolyrikoz is awesome but I don't know why Balvin never put them on though they started in the battle scene together. Maybe they are too hood.  Balvin dishonored Colombia by never working with them or La Etnnia. Tres Coronas is BO$$. Even Karol G is ok though she be acting like she lives some double life where she has an alternate life as a Brazilian P* Star. A real Mariah Angeliq 2.0. And I hate that Karol being that way, they market her to little girls. That ish is immoral.

But those first 4 guys are trash imo. My apologies if my accusations on OVY is wrong but how else do you explain the disparate quality on beats? One day he has the hottest track and then next he does the bullshit music he did on "Tropicoqueta". But the Top Colombian idol is the worse. Balvin is cool though, he just doesn't write most of his stuff but neither does Don Omar.

Now I shall rate the idols of Colombia

Karol G 7/10 - Overrated. But she was the golden girl for some reason.  What is known about Karol is that she worked very hard from her teenage years to get to where she is at.  And she has that " je ne sai quas" that has made her reach the masses outside of your typical Reggaeton consumer.  Does she have the best body of work?  Hell no!  But how many Pop stars do?  She began as a Reggaeton star than transformed herself into a Pop sensation so the traditional conventional Reggaeton rules don't apply to her.  Still, she could be a whole lot better and the Rolling Stone people that overrate Karol G and others don't know what Real Reggaeton is.  But she's good for what she is.

Feid 9/10 - He has proven to become a truly great talent. I feel he has surpassed Farruko in ability. And unlike Balvin he actually writes his own stuff.

Alcolyrikoz 8.5/10 - I only heard "Servicioz Ambulatorioz" but that album is a masterpiece and the best that Colombia has to offer.

Ovy On The Drumz 6/10 - Steals blueprints which is why his beats are so inconsistent. These are baseless accusations, I know, but it's what my instincts tell me. Plus, I know a little about music production though I am a nobody.

Camilo 4/10 - He is a hack. I heard 3 of his albums all the way through and it is some of the worst music ever made. He got lucky with "Tatoo" but somebody more talented than him must have gone uncredited. I would not be surprised if he steals hidden demos from Jhayco when he was 14 no one ever heard. But he doesn't get the good ones Arcangel used. No, he gets the bootleg reject ones. But as long as you got the Colombia-Venezuela petrol connection money behind you, u might have a hit, no matter how much it sucks! Damn bots!

Blessd 5.5/10 - Can be good, but not versatile enough and ultra inconsistent. He is awful at Rap too despite Chimi and them ghostwriting.

Beele 5/10 - He has some good songs, but he should remain an artist who only puts out singles. "Boreondo" sucked so much ass, and not the good kind... but the poopy stinky kind instead, not the Scarlett Johansen type. It had a few good songs though I'll admit.

Ryan Castro 4/10 - Mr. Droopz. They overhyped this guy but my wild guess is they underpaid Joyce Santana, so he stopped ghostwriting for him. That's why he sucks now! "Mujeriego" is the worst merengue hit I have ever heard but my cousin Kay loves it! I think she met him. *nudge nudge*

Kapo 7.5/10 - This guy is actually pretty good, especially for Colombia. I think he will become mega pop star like Ricardo Arjona is he converts his afro beats into ballads.

HIM 5/10 - He is a very average talent with a decent voice. But he never learned the true art of this unless he's an undercover spy where Reggaeton is his secondary job. Anything is possible. He also looks like a refined version of Bobby Jacko.

J Balvin 7.5/10 - Him relying on the compositions of others hurt him in the long run. And now his label won't spend top dollar to have the best writers compose for him. But that's 80% of Colombia. Most of Colombia don't write.

Tres Coronas 10/10 with Reychesta 8/10 without him - Self explanatory if you know real Latin Rap but the best talents to have ever come out of Colombia in Urbano.

La Etnnia 7.5/10 – The originators.  Their first albums is an undeniable classic, but they were fairly inconsistent afterwards.  “Criminologia” and “Indigenas” are standouts though.

Bonus Shakira

Old Shakira 9/10 - She used to be great. Especially with her first 3 albums.

New Shakira 6/10 - Trend seeking cougar. She's still pretty fine tho.

This post was rejected on Reddit by fans who think Maluma is the second coming of Daddy Yankee.  They are insane!  I liked this take of mines the most but it was immediately shouted down in the room by Maluma's Cabana boys.  Everything I wrote here is true btw.  You can easily find evidence of just half of it through Google.  I hate Maluma.  He is the antichrist of Reggaeton in my humble opinion.  Yet Mike Bahia is still worst.

"Ain't no fiction homeboy. I seen the interviews where Guelo Star and Benny Benni admitted to ghostwriting in Colombia. You can't look it up but I remember stumbling upon it.  The rest of this is findable. Kendo ghostwrote for El Dandee. Feid wrote for Balvin and I'm sure he wasn't always credited. Kenai wrote and ghostwrote for Maluma. You think the cuck Vallenato Pop writer came up with the flow to Felices Los 4? He's not talented enough maybe on the crappy hook but those verses much better than the chorus, study them. That's Kenai's flow. That wack vallenato guy can't come up with flows like that nor can Maluma. That's a Kenai reference track they copied. That's why Manila never flowed like that again. He ain't nice! And I am bias. Though it's mostly a generational thing. Chimj, Slayter, Dei V and Pressure all came out with wack albums. That's not how it used to be. When Wisin & Yandel, Nottyplay and Plan B all came out with their first albums. All those projects were hot. Yomo, Cosculluela, Ňengo all had great albums. It's just the new generation that is far less talented, complacent and lazy. Either that or their real jobs is being computer engineers for the govt and Reggaeton is their backup gig. Colombia weak talent is more of a generational reflection overall."
