The influential Colombian Hip Hop group brought us a gritty and raw sounding hardcore Rap album filled with narratives about the harrowing realities of Barrio Life inside of Colombia.  The anniversary remaster sounds even better.

81  Bad Bunny - Un Verano Sin Ti (2022)

80  DJ Goldy vol 3 - The Melody (1997)

79  Playero & Nico Canada - Boricua Guerrero The EP (1997)

78  Playero 40 - New Era (1996)

When Playero 40 dropped in 1996, it changed the game forever.  Playero was among the first to program his own dembow loops and then everyone followed using MPC's and later the famous Fruity Loops.

77  Calle 13 (2005)

Calle 13's Debut album was a revolutionary piece of work.  They brought a new degree of insight into the Urban atmosphere mostly due to Residente's political mindset mixed with a University education from Spain yet still living in La Perla, one of Puerto Rico's most famous and notorious neighborhoods.  All this provided a different point of view which captivated audiences from all classes and backgrounds.  Calle 13 proves that Barrio Music can be intelligent and insightful while making you shake your booty at the same time.

76  U Records 3 - Reggae Jam Mix (1995) +

Malcolm Negron was the genius behind this project.  He hooked up 5 of the hottest dj's in Puerto Rico, being DJ Chiclin, DJ Adam, DJ Manuel, DJ Raymond and DJ Crane along with their respective crews to create a work that stands the test of time.

75  El Roockie - Semblante Urbano (2007)

El Roockie united his eclectic talents with the genius music production of Luny Tunes 'Mas Flow Inc' team including Predikador and Tainy.  Gotta make an honorable mention of 'Revelation Lyrics' which is also a classic, but this is Roockie's best selling and most stand out work of his career.

74  Bad Bunny - El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo (2020)

This eclectic album from Bad Bunny will take years for many to appreciate.  He did something that only Residente has done in fusing the Punk Rock and EDM world with the Urbano at the same time, but did it much better.  It may have only hit on 20% of the audience as far as those who view it a classic, but does who do, the impact is even stronger than YHLQMDLG and that audience is growing every day as this album becomes more appreciated over time.

73  Memo & Vale - En Mi Fokin Mundo Rebelde (1997)

72  Wisin & Yandel presentan Los Vaqueros (2006) *

71  Eddie Dee - El Terrorista De La Lirica (2000) *

70  Maicol y Manuel - D' Underground (1996)

It's rare for a product to go from lauded to obscure but that's what happened with "D'Underground' mainly because there are no Playero Style Reggaetons and it is mostly Rap.  It also sounds like it was made in 1991, but 30 years later, that isn't necesarily a bad thing.

69  Master Joe & OG Black - Francotiradores 2 (2001)

'Francotiradores 1' was a special work, but on the second volume, DJ Blass elevated the music production greatly.  It is an album that sounds adaptable to today's environment because it is very grounded sonically and isn't bogged down by trends.  Master Joe & OG Black just made good Reggaeton songs which stood the test of time.

68  Cartel De Santa - Volumen Prohibido (2006)

67  SFDK - Odisea En El Lodo (2002)

66 Cypress Hill Exitos en Espanol (1999)

65  Shotta - Flowesia (2014)

2014's "Flowesia" is a master class in lyricism but also a testament to the power of a never give up attitude.  This album is full of positive, motivational music which highlights Shotta's evolution and maturity as an artist.

64  DJ Blass Sandunguero (2001)

63  Bad Bunny - YHLQMDLG (2020)

Bad Bunny's YHLQMDLG is the most influential Reggaeton album from the past 15 years.  It has influenced a entirely new generation.  It brought Perreo back to the forefront.  Everybody took their current sound from this album in one form or another and it hit universally.  Even the hardcore Rap crowd from Spain loved this album and there was a time when they wouldn't listen to anything involving Reggaeton.  Bad Bunny changed the game forever with this one.

62  Yaga & Mackie - Sonando Diferente (2002)

61  Orishas - Emigrante (2002)

Orishas showcased their diverse skills in Son and Hip Hop in this enigmatic classic.  The topics range from street to political but grounded in real Hip Hop.  A great work from the gifted trio.

60  Tiro De Gracia - Ser Humano!! (1997)

Another wonderful project with an eclectic sound.  Tiro De Gracia became a phenomenon in Chile and through with this influential album that even crossed over into the Alternative Rock audience of the time.

59  Mexicano 777 - Entre El Bien y El Mal (1998)

58  Playero 39 (1995)

57  Tempo - Exitos (2002)

56  Lito & Polaco - Masacrando MCs Special Edition (1999)

Lito & Polaco gave a master class on tiraera and social commentary.  No one can do a song with a positive message better than Lito & Polaco.

55  Hector El Bambino presenta The Godfather (2002)

54  Kase.O - El Círculo (2016)

The legendary MC from Violadores Del Verso brought us this very inspired album full of such profound elevated thought and supreme lyricism, you might feel a little overwhelmed after listening.  Regardless, the music is excellent and the production wonderful.  If you feel nothing when listening to "Yemen" then Hip Hop is probably not for you.

53  Gargolas 2 - El Nuevo Comando Segundo Ataque (1999)

Gargolas vol 2 took everything that worked for its first volume to the next level.  It has a much more hardcore sound with plenty of tiraera as well.  But songs like Las Guanbanas "Girlas Dicen" and Nicky Jam's "Eres Tu Mi Girla" provided the sonic and content balance to appeal to all audiences of the time.

52  Hector & Tito - Violencia Musical (1998) +

Along with DJ Goldy, who had some help from Nico Canada and Harry Digital, Hector & Tito brought us one of the greatest debuts of all-time.  They were on top of their game and broke records for the time selling over 90 thousand units in just 2 weeks.

51  Nico Canada vol 1 (1995)
