Review De Feid - Ferxxo Vol X Sagrado (2025)
Feid's latest work "Ferxxo Vol X Sagrado" is a tour de force in modern day Reggaeton with much influence of modern Pop and R&B. I'm going to try something different here and review this album based on what I deem to be the production's five best songs. I hope you enjoy.
#5 Feid ft Ty Dolla Sign - Dallax
#4 Feid - Nos Desconocimos
If Feid's contract is up for renewal or he recently renewed at a higher rate, his label might be doing to him what they did to Myke Towers for getting a distribution deal. They did the same thing to Yankee back in 2010. They sabotage certain artists' promotion when they begin to get too large and expensive. It's one thing when an artist does a subpar work like Mora's recent outing or Dei V's "Los Flavorz" which is one of the worst productions of the year (and in my opinion of all time). If that causes your downfall then fine. But Myke Towers puts out the best album of his career and his stock plummets. The same thing appears to be happening to Feid unless aficionados create an organic increase in his numbers as of now.
I have to put it bluntly... Gerardo Mejia just renewed Floyy Menor's contract at around $100,000 post "Gata Only". Feid's renewal will cost at least $3-4 million dollars possibly much more depending on what kind of record deal he negotiates. I have not made any inquiry on Feid's contract status in the past year so much of this is speculation. Despite that, Feid is currently earning in the high six figures per performance and selling out stadiums left and right in Latin America.
Feid is a highly valuable artist which may piss off certain execs who want Reggaeton artists to become cheaper expecting to gain a bunch of Floyy Menores but who was just a fluke and one hit wonder that owes most of his success to Cris MJ. But when you look at the label's perspective "Gata Only" is a $10,000,000 (US Dollars) song and Floy Menor's initial contract was only for $30,000 dollars (US). That is quite the profit and the greedy record execs want more of this although they are conscious this is rare, they want to do everything possible to keep artists from becoming as expensive as Feid is currently.
#3 Feid & Wisin - Hypnotixx (2025)
#2 Keloide
This song has all the makings of smash hit. It has a great modern Reggaeton sound with catchy synth melodies. What impresses me the most of Feid with "Sagrado" is his Romantic sensibilities combined with sonic Perreo fusions which brings us something brand new. Ok, Karol did it first, but we all know Feid ghostwrote. He takes things to the next level with all his lyrics of heartache and missing one but finding the correct sonic element to combine with his lyrical entrega. It is a fanstastic concept from top to bottom and "Keloide" is a one of the album's shining examples of this great achievement. O yea bonus mention on "No Me Dejo XXimbiar". We never hear Feid do Reggaeton Underground but he does it well here.
#1 Ferxxo 500
This should end up becoming one of the biggest songs of the year. I would not be shocked if a Karol G remix happens where the girl answers. It would be good, assuming they're on good terms. I don't know and probably won't for a while. This is classic Reggaeton. A modern "Aunque Te Fuistes". It should become the biggest song in the world at some point unless Feid's management foolishly fails to make it a single. It has melodies akin to a "Los Temerarios" ballad. Los Temerarios are huge in Colombia as is Marco Antonio Solis. I don't know if the influence of Mexican Grupero balada is intentional but it is very well noted. Feid nails everything here, from the sentiment, to the lyrics and melody along with a perfectly danceable dembow for the nightclubs, house parties and parties de marquesinas. Classic!
Rating: 9/10
Ferrxo has brought us a modern day classic. They said Feid made most of the beats on this one and that he has been learning from Tainy and Sky for the past 10 years on how to make "pistas". I believe that. But I also think that Feid got blueprints from those same producers and maybe Jowaan; then he remade those flp (fruity loop) files into something new enough to give him sole credit as a producer. I say so because the beats are so incredible and creative. There is no way Feid did this 100% by himself. And they are way too creative to have heavy AI influence. At most 10% of it is AI, if that.
Who knows how "Ferxxo Vol X Sagrado" will be viewed by the general public in the time to come. Will it even do good numbers or will his label continue to sabotage him? Or will an organic movement from listeners turn the tide in Feid's favor. Only time will tell, but if things play like they are supposed to, Feid should come out on the other side of this one bigger than ever. Only time will tell.
